ENLIGHTEN (ENgaging Leaders In Global and local HealTh Equity in Neurology)

About the Program

ENLIGHTEN (ENgaging Leaders In Global and local HealTh Equity in Neurology) T32 fellowship is an innovative 2-year program funded by the NIH, with the overarching goal of providing a formalized, in-depth mentored research experience and the support required to undertake stimulating postdoctoral training in neurologic health equity methods. ENLIGHTEN fellows will identify and address social determinants of neurologic health through the development of effective and sustainable solutions to reduce health disparities and improve outcomes among patients with neurologic conditions.

ENLIGHTEN’s flexible curriculum in neurologic health equity research methodology is designed to build upon fellows’ experience levels and provide the requisite knowledge to conduct mentored research and then transition to scientific independence. Fellows will be matched with a team of mentors who will help formulate an Individual Development Plan, which will include enhancing health equity research acumen, bolstering proficiency in biomedical research writing, improving scientific reviewing skills, sharpening oral presentation prowess, establishing key professional networks, and participating in pivotal career promoting opportunities.
